This is one of my favourite Dylan songs: ‘In 14 months I’ve only smiled once and I didn’t do it consciously.’ It was recorded during the Blood on the Tracks sessions but left off the album, emerging only in 1986 on the magnificent Biograph triple album. In the meantime McGuinn used it on his 1976 LP Cardiff Rose, which may or may be not about a Welsh prossie.
