The Turtles: Happy Together

Square

This was written Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon, and was offered to a dozen groups before the Turtles picked it up. It is notable for having one of the worst lines in pop history:

So happy together
How is the weather

I cringe every time I hear it.

Released in February 1967, it was the group’s only chart-topper in the US, and reached No 12 in Britain.
