In an era when they were only too keen to ban pop songs perceived as overtly sexual, this classic slipped under the radar. It was written by Jiles Perry Richardson Jr, aka The Big Bopper, and released in the summer of 1958. It got to No 6 in America and No 12 in Britain.

Jerry Lee Lewis did a typically great version for his 1972 album The Killer Rocks On. The single reached No 43 in the US and No 33 in Britain.
