Noel Harrison: The Windmills of Your Mind

Square

This was originally a French song called Les Moulins de mon cœur with music by Michel Legrand and lyrics by Eddy Marnay. It was chosen as the theme song for the 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair and English lyrics were written by American husband and wife Alan and Marilyn Bergman.  It reached No 8 in Britain, and won the 1969 Oscar for Best Original Song.

I think this is a semi-live performance.

Dusty Springfield recorded it for her 1969 album Dusty in Memphis, though reportedly she disliked it because she couldn’t identify with the words. As a single it reached No 22 in America.
