This was written by Ben Raleigh and Artie Wayne and first recorded in 1962 as King For Tonight by Johnny Hallyday, I suspect as an album track rather than as a single.
Helen Shapiro recorded it in 1963, but at the tender age of 16 her star was on the wane and it got no higher than No 33 in Britain.
