Me and my brother loved George Best; we went to see Man. Utd in the early 70s many times. He was an absolute superstar. I never actually saw him play though, because just at the time I started going to the matches he was going through his wild times and was often dropped from the team. My brother, being older than me, saw him play. We also visited Georgie’s custom-built space-age house on the edge of Stockport. Didn’t see him there either! Looking at the house now it is hideous; back then we thought it was the coolest house ever:
