A Leiber and Stoller number written for the Coasters and released in 1957. It reached No 3 in the States. I don’t think it was released here.
The Beatles performed it for their Decca audition on January 1, 1962, with Paul McCartney on lead vocals. Decca turned them down – I dare say Harrison’s pathetic guitar work was the reason. On the other hand Decca really should have done better – this was obviously a group with star quality.
