This was written in 1964 by group leader Mann, singer Paul Jones and drummer Mike Hugg as the introductory music for the ITV Friday evening pop show Ready Steady Go! in succession to the Surfaris’ Wipe Out. It reached No 5 in Britain (with that exposure it is surprising that it didn’t get to No 1, but in all honesty it wasn’t much good). It either wasn’t released in America or did not get into the charts; I suspect the former.
