Everly Brothers: On the Wings of a Nightingale

Square

This was written by Paul McCartney for the Everly Brothers who recorded it in 1984 for their brilliant album EB 84, produced by Dave Edmunds. It reached No 50 in America, their last single to make the Hot 100. I am not sure if it was released as a single in the UK.

The video is the best bit, involving the restoration of a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. Pity the picture quality is so poor.

Here is a live performance from 1984.

This is McCartney’s demo.
