Co-written by Vinton and Gene Allen, this was released on Vinton’s first album Roses are Red in 1962, but was given to Buddy Greco to release as a single. It reached No 64 in America.
Vinton’s version was released as a single in 1964 and topped the chart in America for 15 weeks from December 12.
I’m not sure if this video was made when the album or the single was released.

I must embarrassingly admit that I’d only ever heard the novelty Chipmunk-like version of this song that was a hit a few years ago, and didn’t know that it was an old song.
