Connie Francis: Where the Boys Are

Square

This was written by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield as the title track of a 1961 film in which Francis was starring. What a magnificent voice! There is an interesting account of the song’s origins here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_the_Boys_Are_(Connie_Francis_song) It reached No 4 in America and No 5 in Britain.

This appears to be a live performance for servicemen but I don’t know the details.

Sadly she remade it in a disco version in 1978 for her album Who’s Happy Now? It’s an object lesson in how to ruin a good song.
