This was written by band leader Roger McGuinn and impresario Jacques Levy for a musical which was never staged. It was recorded for their (Untitled) album and released as a single in the US in October 1970. It was a comparative flop, reaching only No 121.

A shorter version did better in Britain when it was released in January 1971, with a No 19 placing.
