This was written by Ric Cartey and Carole Joyner, and first recorded by Cartey with the Jiva-Tones in 1956.
In 1957 three versions were released more or less simultaneously.
The Crew-Cuts got to No 24 in America.
Sonny James took it to No 2.
Tab Hunter reached No 1.
In 1973 Donny Osmond revived it and got to No 23 in America and No 1 in Britain. It is a hard song to sing and I think Osmond makes the best attempt.
