I don’t see anything particularly ‘valiant’ about running out on your wife and kids, but Spencer the Feckless Fart probably does not run off the tongue quite so easily. That said, this is one of Martyn’s finest tracks, helped of course by the wonderful double bass of Danny Thompson.
