Bob Dylan: I Want You

Square

As I have said before I was not a great Dylan fan, but I do like this one, probably because it is more like a pop song than a lecture. He wrote it for the 1966 album Blonde on Blonde and it was issued as a single in June 1966. It got to No 20 in America and No 16 in the UK.

  1. I’m a big Dylan fan, but think that some of his very early stuff is really grating. I think he’d got his act together and learned to stop shouting by the time of the LP “Bringing It All Back Home ” and from then on he got better and better. The records before this were the annoying, hectoring and austere young Dylan. “I Want You” is a wonderful 1960s pop tune as you say Margaret.
