Chuck Berry wrote this and recorded it in 1958. It was released in 1959 but doesn’t seem to have made the charts. Re-released in 1963, it got to No 6 in the UK. I don’t know if it was re-released in America.
I believe this to be a live performance in 1963.
John Lennon made a reasonable job of it with the Beatles the same year. If only they had stuck to rock ’n’ roll.
