The hot weather put me in mind of this, which reached No 1 in America and No 8 in Britain in 1966. It was written by the group’s leader John Sebastian (nice comment on the YouTube video: ‘John Sebastian’s sideburns were so awesome, they had their own groupies’), bass player Steve Boone and Mark Sebastian, who I take to be John’s brother.
