Written by the great Rod and recorded for his brilliant 1971 album Every Picture Tells a Story. It was released as the B-side of another terrific track from the album, (I Know) I’m Losing You, which reached No 24 in the States.

The Everly Brothers did it on their 1972 album Stories We Could Tell. While I yield to no man in my admiration of the Everlys, I don’t think this bears much resemblance to the original. In fact it is pretty bad.
Earl Scruggs did a decent version on his 1977 album Strike Anywhere.
