Rick Nelson: Fools Rush In

Square

The lyrics were written by Johnny Mercer with music by Rube Bloom. One of the first recordings in 1940 was by Glenn Miller with vocals by Ray Eberle.

There were many more versions over the years but the big one was Rick Nelson in 1963. It reached No 12 on both sides of the Atlantic.

Here is a TV performance, but the sound quality isn’t great.

  1. Rick Nelson was my favorite growing up and Perry Como was my first at the age of four. After that it was the Beach Boys and shortly thereafter the Beatles. And I still listen to all of them a lot! I have this lp shown above in mono and stereo.
