I like a bit of Sabbath, particularly their first LP and Volume 4. They are said to be one of the most influential groups ever. I’d agree with this, because heavy metal is huge worldwide and continues through whatever other fads and fashions come and go. However, being influential is not necessarily a good thing, as most heavy metal is very poor, tuneless and stupid!
Rondellus are an Estonian group who were positively infuenced by the Sabs. They did an album of Black Sabbath songs played on medieval instruments and sung in Latin; for example “War Pigs” was “Verres Militares”.
