This was written by band member Gene Clark who also took the lead vocal. It was released in June 1965 as the B-side of the band’s second single, Bob Dylan’s All I Really Want to Do, but the Columbia record label promoted it in its own right and it scraped up to 103 in the US charts. It is now considered to be one of the Byrds’ best tracks, and Rolling Stone magazine ranked it at 234 on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
All I Really Want to Do reached No 40 in the US and No 4 in the UK.
