Joe Walsh’s solo albums are quite fun., and I enjoy them, without thinking he’s in the top league of songwriters or guitarists.
Financially, he got lucky from Richard Thompson declining to join the Eagles when Bernie Leadon left. Walsh was recruited instead, just in time for the big money.
I saw him in Glasgow in 1971, when the the James Gang were the support for The Who (The Who were brilliant, still the best concert I have been to).
